                                   MY TRIP TO LAPLAND

In December 2016 I went to Lapland.   When I landed it was just covered in snow!  It felt magical.

When we went into the airport there were elves.

Once we got our bas, we  got on the buses.  There was an elf on our bus and his name was Pinkynosel   There were so many activities - there was husy rides, reindeer rides, Santa Park where you get food and of course the man himself - Santa Claus!

In Lapland, there is only 4 hours of brightness each day.  When I came out from meeting Santa Claus I started crying because it was so AMAZING.

It was the trip of a lifetime.  I will never forget!!!!

just a quick note DONNA  to thank you so much for making our honeymoon such a truly memorable experience.   Your attention to detail was 2nd to none.   From the moment we discussed our requirements with you we knew we were dealing with a travel professional.  We had the honeymoon of a lifetime in The Residence in the beautiful Maldives, the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, the magnificent Burj al Arab in Dubai.      All the Blackpool staff were extremely helpful, and we would highly recommend your agency.   Looking forward to our next trip.

Thanks again Donna.

Thank you LEONA you did an fantastic job organising our honeymoon which was so memorable.  Borneo was amazing, a beautiful country with incredibly kind people, Selingan Island and Bilit Rainforest were the highlight of the trip for me and when we went to Shangri La it was the difinitation of luxury, pampering, parasailing, wall climbing, the spa ...such fun times.  A great trip to round off a great wedding thanks again to Leona and to Blackpool Travel for arranging our fantastic honeymoon.

We have just returned from a most fantastic River Cruise on board the SS ANTOINETTE

You have reared the kids, paid off the mortgage…do you deserve a bit of luxury …we say YES YOU DO! A river cruise is the ultimate in luxury….think about it….sailing up the Rhine watching the castles glide by….dining in the restaurant with 5* cuisine what better way to enjoy this part of your life….empty nest bring it on!

Once you step aboard the SS Antoinette expect to be pampered with 5* luxury ….you will sleep in handcrafted Savoir beds, enjoy the L’Occitane en Provence and Hermes bath and body products in your Brazilian marble bathroom and after your shower relax in the cosy bathrobes and slippers.

Your dining experience will be 2nd to none as chef prepares such a excellent range of food to enjoy in the Restaurant de Versailles.  After dinner you can enjoy a cocktail of your choosing and dance the night away in the Salon du Grand Trianon or you can retire to the Bar du Lepoard where you will feel you have been transported to another era with…think Hemmingway with palm leaves cooling the bar area…..   For the cinema buff the onboard cinema is also available.  These are no crowds on board this ship it is maximum of 154 passengers on board so the staff are always available to meet your every need.

Before our cruise set off we had an option of taking a guided walking tour of Amsterdam (free) or a bus tour of Amsterdam (free).  We opted for the walking tour and it was so informative and a great way to see any city.  At the start of the cruise do not expect to see castles on the 1st leg from Amsterdam to Cologne but you will pass through locks and as you sail down the mighty river that carries ships and cargo through a landscape shaped by time and history and the countryside stretches out on both side of the Rhine.  Once you leave Cologne with Germany on one side and France on the other you will marvel at the castles that were once mighty fortresses.  You will discover Alsace whose dual French and German heritage has given it fabulous food and winemaking traditions that dates back to the Romans. You can get an insiders look at Marksburg Castle one of the only castles on the Rhine that has never been destroyed   Take a canal cruise or a walking tour, with stops for coffee and pastries, of the picturesque Strasbourg that boasts a UNESCO designated city centre with grand Gothic Cathedral and half timbered houses.  A stroll through the fairytale towns of Riquewihr, Kayserberg and Rudesheim are a must on this cruise.  Wine connoisseurs will want to go on a private tour and Riesling tasting at Castle Vollrad.   Adventurers will want to soar up to the Niederwald Heights on a gondola which is then followed by a hike and a cruise along the Upper Middle Rhine stroll through the quaint Bopp.

Back on board: On day 2 you will be invited to the Captains Gala Dinner and Reception which is a black tie and a great excuse to dress up for the night.  As you cruise on board you can enjoy a cocktail making class, a cookery demonstration, a lesson on playing poker or you can lie out on deck, sipping cocktails and watch the world glide by ….it is the ultimate in luxury.   This cruise is a must for those who enjoy the finer things in life and oh yes last but not least….put your wallet in the safe you will not need it again until you are leaving the ship as everything…yes I said everything is prepaid for including all your drinks and onshore excursions.  All you need to do is contact Blackpool Travel and we can book you aboard one of the may river cruises that are available with the the 2016 World’s Best River Cruise Line.
